APEC builds conventional under-sink RO systems - plastic filter housings, a pressurized storage tank (steel shell with a butyl bladder and plastic-lined water side), and plastic tubing. Plastic is inherent to how RO works; APEC's value is strong, certified contaminant removal rather than plastic-free materials. The purified water sits in the tank's plastic-lined side before it reaches the faucet.

How clear are their specs?

Publishes NSF/ANSI 58 and 372 certifications and stage-by-stage filter details, but does not fully document the wetted materials of the storage tank and tubing.
