Aroma's default cookers use PTFE-coated aluminum inner pots, so the brand as a whole is not plastic-conscious. The exception worth knowing is the Select Stainless line, whose inner pot is uncoated 304 stainless - a genuinely coating-free food surface at a budget price. The inner lid and steam parts on these units are still plastic, so the food path is clean but the steam path is not fully. Pick the Select Stainless models by name; the rest of the catalog is conventional nonstick.
