Designs plastic out of the parts of a rice cooker that usually contain it: the Classic pairs an uncoated clad-stainless inner pot with a stainless inner lid, so neither the rice nor the condensing steam touches plastic or nonstick. That puts it in a rare tier for the category. Plastic almost certainly remains in the outer housing and controls, but it's kept out of the food and steam path.
How clear are their specs?
Clear that the inner pot is uncoated multi-layer stainless and the inner lid is steel, but doesn't fully break down the outer-housing plastics or any seals.
