Scotch-Brite
Scotch-Brite is a 3M line built around synthetic scouring materials. The classic scrub sponge pairs a cellulose sponge (not plastic) with a green non-woven pad of polyester/nylon fibers, resin binder, and abrasive grit - the green side is the plastic, and it sheds synthetic fiber as it scrubs. The Dobie is a polyurethane foam core in a nylon mesh sleeve, fully synthetic. 3M has moved some pads to "100% recycled plastic" fibers, which is still plastic. No part of the core line is plastic-free.
How clear are their specs?
3M product pages describe the constructions in general terms and disclose the recycled-plastic fiber content on some pads, but don't frame the fiber shedding as a microplastic issue.
