SodaStream
Leans on plastic and markets around it. The core business is reusable PET carbonating bottles sold on a "BPA-free" reassurance, and the best-selling Terra carbonates straight into that plastic — which is why we document it but don't recommend it. The glass-carafe machines like the E-Duo are the better path, letting water carbonate into glass, though even there the nozzle and carafe collar are still plastic. Glass is the exception in the lineup, not the default.
How clear are their specs?
"BPA-free" does most of the talking for the plastic bottles without naming much beyond PET, and the residual plastic on the glass-carafe machines (nozzle, collar) surfaces only on close reading.
