WILLOW
Genuinely designs plastic and coatings out of the food zone: the Eco Series air fryer uses a tempered-glass basket and a bare stainless crisper plate, so food touches only glass and steel with no non-stick coating at all — a real departure from the PTFE-lined baskets that define the category. The "non-toxic" marketing (PTFE/PFOA/PFAS/BPA-free) is doing sales work, but here the materials substantiate it. Plastic almost certainly remains in the housing and controls, as with any electric appliance, just not where the food goes.
How clear are their specs?
Clear and specific about the food-contact materials (tempered glass, bare stainless, no coating), but frames the rest through "non-toxic" claims about what's absent rather than a full accounting of the housing and electronics.
