The Smart Oven Air Fryer Pro (BOV900) is one of the best countertop convection/air-fry ovens made, and its air-fry basket is stainless mesh - which sounds like it sidesteps the coating problem. It doesn't, because the problem is the cavity: Breville's oven interior walls carry a proprietary nonstick coating, right under the food. Breville states it is PFOA-free, and consumer support has confirmed it is not PTFE-free - so the surface radiating heat onto your food is a coated one, which is exactly the coated-cavity situation the toaster-oven category is meant to avoid. (The included pizza pan is separately PTFE-coated.) It lands at minimal-contact. A bare galvanized/stainless-cavity oven with your own steel tray puts no coating around the food.
