COSORI Double-Wall Stainless Steel Electric Kettle (CDK-SE151)
An all-steel double-wall kettle at glass-kettle prices - steel interior, steel inner lid, steel spout and filter, concealed element, and no seam or window for water to reach plastic.
The verdict: No-contact plastic
Cosori builds this one specifically so no plastic touches the water: a seamless 304 stainless interior, a stainless inner lid (the part most steel kettles quietly make of plastic), a steel spout, and a removable stainless mesh filter. The heating element is concealed beneath the chamber and the Strix thermostat reads the base plate, not the water, so nothing plastic sits in the water path. The handle and power base are BPA-free plastic but stay outside it. Unlike Cosori's glass kettle, there is no glass-to-metal seam sitting at water level. The one part Cosori doesn't itemize is the lid seal, which is conventionally a small silicone gasket in the steam path - treat it as silicone-only if you strictly avoid silicone.

The CDK-SE151 is a 1.5 L double-wall boil-only electric kettle: press the lever and it boils, with auto shut-off and boil-dry protection but no temperature presets. The double wall keeps the outside cooler than a single-wall steel kettle. At around $40 it undercuts most all-steel kettles and sits at glass-kettle prices.
Pros
- Steel interior, steel inner lid, steel spout, and steel filter - no plastic in the water path
- No glass-to-metal seam at water level, unlike Cosori's glass kettles
- Double-wall body stays cooler to the touch
- One of the cheapest genuinely all-steel-water-path kettles, and brand-backed
Cons
- Boil-only - no temperature presets or keep-warm
- Lid seal material undisclosed (conventionally a small silicone gasket)
- Owned by VeSync (Levoit/Cosori family); not a plastic-free-focused brand
Notes
- Capacity: 1.5 L; boil-only. Model CDK-SE151-KUS
- Cosori's product pages carry a California Prop 65 lead warning, but it is blanket boilerplate applied to every Cosori kettle including the all-steel ones - it does not single out this model
- For a version with temperature control and the same all-steel water path, see Cosori's gooseneck electric kettle (CO108-NK)
