The only electric grinder we found that ships with a stainless steel hopper as standard - beans start in steel and grounds end in a steel canister.
The verdict: Minimal plastic contact
Both ends of the coffee path are steel, which is genuinely rare. Mazzer states the hopper is stainless steel and designed so it can be removed entirely for single-dosing; the 64mm flat burrs are listed in the official parts catalog as "GRINDING BLADES 200-D STAINLESS STEEL"; and the catch canister is a stainless cup sized to a 58mm portafilter. Every other electric grinder we looked at puts beans into plastic first.
What keeps it off a cleaner rating is the middle of the path, which Mazzer declines to document. The hopper lid, the long auger that pre-breaks beans, the burr carriers and the coffee outlet duct are all listed in the exploded view with no material designation at all - and that silence is meaningful, because the same catalog does write "PLASTICA" where a part is plastic (the adjustment detent plungers) and "INOX" where it is steel. The tell on the lid: Mazzer sells a stainless steel hopper cover as a $95 upgrade, "precision-milled from a solid stainless steel bar," which would be a strange thing to sell if the stock lid were already steel. We rate conservatively where a maker won't say.
Mazzer's own claim is that "all components that come into contact with coffee are certified food-safe." That is an assertion with no standard cited and no declaration of conformity published, and food-safe plastic is still plastic.

Mazzer's single-dose home grinder, built on the same machining the brand has done for cafés since 1948. A long auger pre-breaks beans to stop popcorning, 64mm flat burrs sit vertically, and a spring-loaded shaker knocks the chute clear into a magnetically-docked canister that lifts out to dose a portafilter. The hopper unscrews so the machine can run short on a counter with a cabinet above it. Sold in silver and onyx, with a choice of two burr sets.

Mazzer's own machined steel lid, milled from solid bar, replacing the stock cover that caps the hopper where beans sit. The one documented way to close the biggest gap in an otherwise steel bean path.
