Silicone is only a gasket/seal — what touches your food is Metal (unspecified) and Stainless Steel (grade unspecified) and Aluminum and Anodized Aluminum.

The bigger, faster sibling to the VS3, carrying the same all-metal coffee path plus ionization needles in the chute instead of a plastic-and-static compromise.

The verdict: Silicone only

Varia's spec line reads "Full Metal Build, No Plastic Parts in Contact with Coffee," and the burrs are high-nitrogen SUS420 stainless. The magnetic dosing cup is aluminum, powder-coated to match the body. As on the VS3, the only non-metal part in the path is the silicone bellows; the feet are silicone and the hard travel case is plastic, both outside the food path.

Where the VS6 differs is how it handles static: rather than accepting a static-prone path, it puts active ionization needles inside the grounds chute to neutralize charge. Independent testing found they measurably help but don't eliminate the problem - one reviewer still noticed static with them running, and Varia tucks an RDT spray bottle into the spare-parts bag.

Worth knowing before you buy on the materials story: Varia's storefront advertises "space-grade CNC machined aluminium" while the manual's own technical-specification page says the body is ADC12 die-cast and machined aluminium - a standard die-casting alloy, not billet, and not space-grade. That's the same company describing the same part two ways. As with the VS3, no teardown has independently verified the chute.
